Minister of Interior discusses displaced Syrians’ conditions with German delegation

FEBRUARY 3, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Interior and Municipalities Nuhad Al-Mashnouq discussed the Lebanese-German relations with the German Deputy Prime Minister Lorenz Caffier accompanied by a large delegation and by the Ambassador of Germany to Lebanon Christian Clages.

The meeting was an occasion to review the Lebanese-German ties and means to boost them. Conferees also discussed the status of displaced Syrians in Lebanon.

Caffier saluted the “efforts of the Lebanese state to maintain security, despite the challenges and the growing number of displaced Syrians.”

He stressed that Germany began hosting a number of displaced people fleeing the ongoing war.

Mashnouq briefed his guests on the Lebanese government’s efforts in promoting the Interior Ministry’s security forces, as well as in strengthening the role of municipalities especially where displaced Syrian are being hosted in large numbers.
