Mikati welcomes Girault

FEBRUARY 3, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Former Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Tuesday welcomed French Foreign Ministry’s envoy, Jean-François Girault, in presence of French Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrice Paoli.

Talks reportedly featured high on the current situation and the region, in addition to the bilateral relations between Lebanon and France.

“I am glad that I met with the French Ambassador and envoy who is looking into the measures that would eventually lead to the election of a new president of the republic in Lebanon,” Mikati told reporters following the meeting.

“In fact, I perceived the serious efforts by France in terms of electing a Lebanese president,” he added.
