Mikati: Dialogue prime contributor to mitigating tension

JANUARY 16, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Former Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, said on Friday that dialogue was the best means to ease the simmering situation at the local scene, “despite everybody’s conviction that issues of dispute will not be thrashed out overnight.”

During his weekly Tripoli meetings, Mikati warned that the return of the suicide bombers’ phenomena entailed concerted efforts and more cautiousness on the part of the state.

“Those wishing the country ill will go on with their designs to strike security in Lebanon and to bring back a wide-scaled state of tension,” Mikati said, urging the country’s security officials to preserve national security and apprehend criminals.

Mikati also hailed the “quality” operation raiding Roumieh prison and bringing it back to order.
