A three-day seminar to deliberate on implementation of decisions taken at the SMEs Symposium at Seeh al Shamikhat, Bahla in 2013 will begin at Sultan Qaboos University on Monday.
To be held under the auspices of H E Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, the seminar comes in response to the Royal Directives to assess how the decisions have been implemented. It will cover a number of issues such as entrepreneurship culture, available opportunities, policies, legislation and finance.
The second day of the seminar will see a discussion on current and future projects, the available opportunities for SMEs in the private sector and the role of tourism, oil, gas, industry, mining, communications, IT, agriculture and fisheries in boosting SMEs. The final day of the seminar will shed light on the initiatives to boost entrepreneurship. A number of specialists, officials from different public organisations and owners of SMEs will take part in the seminar.
An exhibition on the sidelines of the seminar will focus on opportunities in different sectors and is also expected to help entrepreneurs build partnerships, and provide a platform for SME owners and company CEOs to share their experiences.
