Mashnouq, Hale tackle current developments

JANUARY 23, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON)Interior and Municipalities Minister, Nuhad Masnouq, on Friday met with US Ambassador to Lebanon, David Hale, where they held a tour d’horizon on the current developments on the local and regional arena.

Ambassador Hale congratulated Minister Mashnouq on the security operation in Roumieh jail, praising the role played by the security forces affiliated to the Interior Ministry in enforcing security across all Lebanese territories.

On the other hand, Mashnouq met with Head of the Lebanese Dialogue Party, Fouad Makhzoumi, where they broached the current political situation and matters related to the city of Beirut at all levels.

The Minister then met with a delegation of the Palestinian factions in Lebanon, led by “Fatah” Movement Central Committee member, General Supervisor of the Palestinian Dossier in Lebanon, Azzam al-Ahmad, in the presence of Palestinian Ambassador, Ashraf Dabbour.

The meeting dwelt on the current situation of the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon in all respects.

Speaking on emerging, al-Ahmad said that all the Palestinians factions and movements are united in their sheer commitment towards the Lebanese state’s sovereignty and its authority over the Lebanese territories, including the Palestinian camps.

al-Ahmad underlined that the Palestinian camp shall never be a shelter for any fugitive whatsoever, stressing coordination with the Lebanese state and its apparatuses.
