Makari after meeting Geagea: Berri won’t convene House in presence of Christian parties

APRIL 28, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Lebanese Forces leader, Samir Geagea, on Tuesday met at Maarab with Deputy House Speaker, Farid Makari, with whom he discussed the issue of legislation, in addition to the necessity of endorsing the state budget that would include the salary scale.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Makari indicated that House Speaker, Nabih Berri, would not convene the Parliament in a legislative session in the event of the absence of the Christian parties. “The session would be unconstitutional,” he said.

Asked about whether he managed to convince Geagea of partaking in the session or not, Makari said that he had reached with the LF leader a common ground in that respect.
