MUSCAT: The LAU Alumni Association of Oman Chapter recently conducted its 7th Annual Ball.The evening was attended by H E Houssam Diab, the Lebanese Ambassador to Oman; Paul Malik, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the American Embassy in Oman; Abdalalh al Khal, the director of Alumni and public relations; Naim Stephan, the president of LAU’s Alumni Chapter in Abu Dhabi and other notable dignitaries.
“At LAU we are preaching peace, equality, respect and love. This is what LAU proselytizes and believes in, therefore standing by our cause to educate new generation. We want to make sure each and every student has an equal opportunity,” said president of LAU Chapter Carla Khalil Zein.
LAU has set up its Alumni Oman chapter in 2007 and since then the mission of the chapter is to develop and maintain sincere and steady relationship between LAU and its community in the region, the alumni, corporations and foundations who share the university’s values. Through these relationships, LAU has strived to secure strong support that enabled them to raise funds in awarding the undergraduate scholarships to the underprivileged yet aspiring students.
The programme featured live musical shows performed by two renowned French singers and one Lebanese percussionist, followed by a buffet-dinner and concluded with a raffle draw.
