Jreij: Salam before many options if matters reach deadlock

July 30, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Information, Ramzi Jreij, on Thursday told reporters, following a Cabinet session at the Grand Serail, that Prime Minister Tammam Salam had many options ahead in case the predicament of the government work reached an impasse.

“I am ready to help overcome the dilemma of the government work approach; my options are open and I might resort to them if matters reach a deadlock,” Jreij quoted Salam as saying.

“The Prime Minister considered that the trash crisis threatened the environmental security. He said that we reached this level due to the futile solutions proposed in the past; moreover, the political conflict was not helpful in that respect,” Jreij added.

“Salam renewed calls to elect a president of the republic in order to restore balance to the state institutions. He also saw that the issue of waste was a national disaster menacing the political and national climate,” he continued.

“Salam called for putting political quandaries aside and working on solving this huge problem,” he said.
