Jaber censures killing of Lebanese pilgrims in Syria

FEBRUARY 2, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Liberation and Development Parliamentary bloc MP, Yassine Jaber, vehemently condemned on Monday the terror attack which claimed the lives of at least 6 Lebanese pilgrims in Syria.

An explosion on Sunday ripped apart a bus carrying Lebanese pilgrims to Shiite shrines in Damascus, Syria, killing at least six people and wounding 27.

“This is an atrocious and abominable act,” the lawmaker said in statement issued today.

“Here resurfaces the bloody terrorism with a new criminal style which is crafted by terror gangs that work in harmony with Israeli enemy,” the lawmaker said, fervently deploring the killing of innocent civilians while performing their religious duty.

“It has become our national duty to declare war on terrorism through national unity and through a plan that starts the elimination of this festering terrorism beginning with the source. It is more than necessary to put an end to this obsessive preoccupation with terrorism, which does not shy away from targeting innocent civilians and pilgrims to holy shrines,” the lawmaker added.
