Interior Minister meets President of Arab Police Union, Fatfat

APRIL 16, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Interior and Municipalities Nuhad Al-Mashnouq met on Thursday with the President the Arab Police Union, Brigadier General Khalid bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, who is visiting Lebanon to participate in the Arab Police Championship – the 8th security forces marathon – which will take place between 17 and 21 January, organized by the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces.

The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, with talks touching on joint affairs.

Minister Mashnouq had met earlier with MP Ahmad Fatfat, who discussed with him an array of public affairs, especially the major security achievements made in the North recently, and which restored life to the city of Tripoli.

“We discussed the situations in the region and the tendentious campaign being waged against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia… It seems that some have forgotten every sense of Arabism and finally decided to follow the footsteps of the Persian Iranian project in the region,” Fatfat said.

“Any security flaw that could happen in this country will be the responsibility of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah directly and personally as a result of his tense rhetoric. The big question directed to Mr. Hassan Nasrallah is, does Lebanon’s interest concern him at all? Is the Lebanese interest in Lebanon and the Gulf significant to him, or is he just adhered to the Iranian interest?” he wondered.

Asked about the feasibility of continuing the dialogue in this atmosphere, the MP said dialogue is a political choice for the Future Movement which decided, a long time ago, not to resort to weapons in any way.”
