Interior Minister discusses decree 1302 with advertisement agencies

FEBRUARY 6, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Interior and Municipalities Minister, Nohad Machnouk, held a meeting at his office on Wednesday with the union of advertising companies, and discussed application of decree 1302 pertaining to organizing and licensing advertising.

Machnouk asserted that he has laboured to pass said decree in order to create a balance between the legitimate interests of billboard owners and the nature of Lebanese cities and the environment.

He pointed out that the decree took into account the modernity needed to develop the advertising field in a way that preserved public safety and eliminated distortion of landscapes.

Separately, Machnouk convened with the union of restaurant owners. Discussions focused on mending the anti-smoking law in ways that preserved the elements of Lebanese cuisine, and the nature of Lebanon.
