MUSCAT: Sushma Swaraj, India’s External Affairs Minister will arrive in the sultanate on Tuesday for a two-day visit.
Her talks with H E Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs will focus on trade and security, including piracy and cybercrimes.
She is also expected to discuss issues pertaining to the large Indian community here. Describing ties with Oman as ‘robust’, a spokesperson of India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that both leaders will discuss important bilateral and regional issues.
He also said that the proposed deep sea gas pipeline between Iran and Oman was also likely to figure during the talks. In his Republic Day message, H E J S Mukul, India’s Ambassador to Oman said that bilateral trade reached US$5.8bn in 2013-14.
