HOCKEY FESTIVAL ON JANUARY 24

A hockey festival featuring two friendly matches will be jointly organised on January 24 by Friends Of Naqvi Group and Team Coorg at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) to mark India’s 66th Republic Day – on January 26 – and also to celebrate the 60th year of diplomatic relations between India and Oman.

The event will be held under the patronage of the Indian Embassy in Oman and in coordination with the Oman Hockey Association (OHA).

The two matches will be played between 4pm-7pm at the hockey pitch of the SQSC. H E J S Mukul, the Indian Ambassador to Oman, will preside over the function and distribute the prizes.

Mahfoodh al Juma, the OHA chairman, will be the chief guest. On the sidelines of the hockey festival, Indian School al Seeb’s choir will render the national anthems of India and Oman. The event is expected to attract a large number of hockey fans.
