JANUARY 17, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Member of Parliament Marwan Hmadeh said on Saturday that issues have not riped yet to elect a new president during the upcoming weeks, noting that a consensual Maronite president would eventually be elected.
Hmadeh hoped the election of a new president would take place before the end of the spring.
The MP explained that the Future- Hizbullah dialogue aims at establishing a relatively calm situation in Lebanon in order to allow the storm that hit the region and which affected theLebanese situation to receed.
Hmadeh told “Voice of Lebanon” radio that dialogue between Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and “Change and Reform” parliamentary bloc leader, MP Michel Aoun, is personal, adding that their approaches have never been contradictory.
The lawmaker underscored that both dialogues would not lead to the election of a new president except if agreement has been reached.
