Hariri, Pharaon discuss state affairs

FEBRUARY 20, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Head of Future Movement, MP Saad Hariri, met on Friday at the Central House with Minister of Tourism, Michel Pharaon, who told the press that discussions focused on the need to activate and facilitate the work of state administrations as “care takers” during the phase of presidential vacuum.

This, however, should not be confused with accepting the presidential status quo, according to the Minister.

“We should not paralyze the work of [state] institutions,” Pharaon commented as he went on to praise the wisdom of Premier Tammam Salam in running the Cabinet.

On that note, Pharaon insisted on the need to end presidential stalemate the soonest possible.

Separately, Hariri convened with ambassador of Italy to Lebanon, Giuseppe Morabito, who asserted his country’s full support of Lebanon, its army, and its security forces.

Among Hariri’s visitors today were MP Robert Ghanem and March 14 General Secretariat coordinator Fares Soaid.
