JANUARY 30, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Telecom Minister, Boutros Harb, on Friday held a meeting with his Swedish counterpart, Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Information Technology, Mehmet Kaplan, at the latter’s Ministry office in Stockholm, where they broached the prospect of the signature of a cooperation agreement between Lebanon and Sweden in the field of communication and information.
Minister Harb is currently in Sweden at the invitation of his Swedish counterpart, accompanied by a delegation of the Ministry senior officials.
On emerging, Harb regarded the meeting as “successful” where they boarded means of bolstering bilateral relations and the vast cooperation fields between the two countries, notably in the telecommunication sector.
Talks also dwelt on the Swedish companies’ undertakings in Lebanon, particularly the Ericsson Company which is carrying out- in conjunction with the Telecommunication Ministry- a number of projects related to the development of communication network and the world of telecommunication in Lebanon.
Harb also indicated that the meeting was a chance to dwell on the current developments in the Middle East.
