JANUARY 14, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Industry Minister Hussein Al-Hajj Hassan received on Wednesday from the U.N. Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon, Mr. Ross Mountain, a copy of the “Lebanon Crisis Response Plan” to address the crisis resulted from the flow of big numbers of Syrian refugees to Lebanon.
It is to note that Prime Minister Tammam Salam and the deputy of the U.N. Secretary launched mid-last month the said plan from the Grand Serail.
The plan underscores the priorities of the cabinet and the international communities in the coming two years (2015-2016) to respond to the crisis which Lebanon has been facing due to the spillover of the Syrian crisis to Lebanon.
Mountain confirmed that “Lebanon has shown exceptional strength during this crisis, and played an important role in aiding the refugees whose number exceeded 1/3 of the Lebanese during the past three years.”
The said plan is expected to boost the international funding and to fortify the public institutions, civil organizations and private companies in Lebanon.
