Gharios: government could avoid vacuum by appointing new security commanders

APRIL 20, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Member of the Change and Reform bloc, MP Naji Gharios, reiterated the bloc’s rejecting of extending the mandate of security commanders, noting that the government can avoid vacuum by opting for the appointment.

According to the MP, the Change and Reform bloc opposed the principle of extension, noting that the bloc has refused to extend the mandate of its deputies within the parliament.

“Consensus is through the voting on the names proposed by the Cabinet and not by forced extension,” Gharios added.
