JANUARY 14, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Lebanese Forces (LF) Head, Samir Geagea, said that the Party’s hand is stretched to handshake and open to the formation of a better future for the country, stressing that LF remains the Cedar’s red line.
Geagea’s fresh words on Tuesday came during a ceremony at the Party’s headquarters in Meerab to hand membership cards to the first batch of 67 new partisan members affiliated to the LF Executive and Foundation Committees, under the title “Be One of Us.”
The ceremony took place in the presence of official, party, social, media and syndical dignitaries.
“This step represents a key milestone in our struggle march,” the LF leader said, urging the new partisan members to contribute to the formation of Lebanon’s history.
Geagea also outlined the Party’s current struggle at the national level as falling in two dimensions, namely the building of a robust state with intact, healthy constitutional institutions, and the fight against corruption, underdevelopment and political clientelism in society and within the state.
The LF leader also pointed out that the building of a resilient state cannot be realized except through the collection of illegal arms on the Lebanese territory and limiting possession to the legitimate forces, as a prelude to the restoration of military and security decision solely to the Lebanese state.
