Future bloc pushes to elect president, condemns ISIS terrorist crimes

FEBRUARY 17, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) The Future parliamentary bloc met on Tuesday under the chairmanship of its leader, Saad Hariri, and stressed the need to elect a president for Lebanon.

The Future bloc insisted that the Lebanese political forces exert further efforts to reach an agreement over the election of a president since, according to the Future, maintaining the presidential vacuum doubles the risks facing Lebanon, particularly amid the ongoing conflicts in the region and the world.

Reading the press release issued in the wake of the meeting, Future MP Ammar Houri reiterated, on behalf of his colleagues, “support for the frank and clear statements delivered by former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, during the commemoration of the martyrdom of his father Rafik Hariri in Biel.”

“The statement proved Hariri’s firm positions and his commitment to moderation against terrorism and its causes,” Houry said.

Members of the Future bloc strongly condemned “the ugly terrorist crime perpetrated by ISIS (Daesh) against Coptic Egyptians in Libya,” deeming it “a crime against humanity”.
