Future bloc gathers, stresses need to continue implementation of security plan

OCTOBER 28, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Future bloc held a meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

Following the meeting, the bloc called for completing the firm implementation of the security plan in Tripoli to allow, at the end, the government to impose its authority across all Lebanese territory so that there would no longer be any weapon other than that of the Lebanese state.

Also, the bloc said that Tripoli security clashes confirm that the Lebanese army — when enjoying a political cover — was capable to protect the Lebanese and defend them with no support of a militia.

Future bloc denounced the tampering with the immunity of MP Khaled Daher under any pretext.

“Hezbollah’s involvement in the conflict in Syria and Iraq brought to Lebanon woes and misfortunes, and this policy has brought the country all kinds of evils and lured militants seeking revenge and wanting to respond to Hezbollah’s involvement in the fighting along with an unjust regime [the Syrian regime] against its people,” the bloc said.

The bloc also stressed the need of having the government proceed with its policy to ensure the return of the kidnapped military men, calling on the government to speed up the release process.
