APRIL 21, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Interior and Municipalities Nuhad Mashnouq met on Tuesday at his Ministry office with the British Ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher, where they tackled the current political and security situation in Lebanon and the region.
The pair also reportedly exchanged viewpoints on the latest developments on the Lebanese and regional arena.
On emerging, Ambassador Fletcher said the visit was a chance to congratulate the Minister on the progress made at the level of the implementation of the security plan nationwide.
The British envoy also hailed the great work undertaken by the Interior Ministry and the government as a whole in securing stability in Lebanon, despite the tough times and the fragile situation currently witnessed in the Middle East region.
Fletcher urged the international community to continue providing support for the government, in order to keep Lebanon stable and maintain the crucial efforts to shun the regional flames away from it.
