First Egyptian aid plane arrives in support of Arsal refugees

APRIL 14, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) An Egyptian military aid plane in support of the Syrian refugees arrived on Tuesday in Beirut at 11:40 a.m. carrying on board the first shipment of aid from the Egyptian country and people to the Syrian refugees in Arsal, NNA field reporter said on Tuesday.

Two other planes are expected to arrive on Wednesday and Thursday for the total amount of aid to reach 50 tons.

The Egyptian aid includes tents, blankets, clothes, medicines, medical equipment, and other nutritious products.

Social Affairs Minister, Rachid Derbas, delivered a word on the occasion in which he thanked the Egyptian nation for its bounteous support, and its solidarity with the Lebanese state, “which groans most, across the world and history, under the heavy weight of this influx.”
