Fatfat: We opted for dialogue with Hezbollah to ease tension

JANUARY 8, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Future Parliamentary bloc MP, Ahmad Fatfat, said on Thursday that the Future Movement has opted for dialogue with Hezbollah in an attempt to ease the simmering situation at the local scene.

“The Future bloc has offered all it can. The mere fact that we have joined the table of dialogue denotes that we have accepted dialogue with a team that carries illicit arms, attacks the Syrian people, and takes part in a battle field that does not involve Lebanon,” Fatfat said, reiterating that his party has only delved into dialogue with Hezbollah to help mitigate tension in the country.

On the other hand, the lawmaker censured the terrorist attack that targeted the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris, claiming the lives of 12 people.

“No matter how we might disagree with some media outlets, we shall never resort to terrorism. This is not the image of Islam and Muslims because it encourages injustice and purveys a very bad image of Islam,” the lawmaker added.
