Fatfat: Hariri’s speech will emphasize commitment to genuine dialogue

FEBRUARY 9, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Future Bloc MP, Ahmad Fatfat, told Voice of Lebanon radio on Monday that former PM Saad Hariri is preparing a speech on the commemoration of his father’s martyrdom that will stress the commitment to a comprehensive, productive and genuine dialogue, away from Hezbollah’s faulty dialogue which creates excuses for not carrying out its terms.

Martyred Premier Rafik Hariri was assassinated on February 14, 2005.

“We realize that current dialogue will not yield viable results unless there is regional agreement and Hezbollah changes its orientation upon a request from Iran,” said the MP, who considered that Iran might modify its orders to Hezbollah depending on developments in nuclear discussions with the US administration.

“Not once has Hezbollah proven its credibility in any dialogue. As for its security and military role, [Hezbollah] is sadly not Lebanese but Iranian and operates within the framework of Persian dominance in the region.”
