MUSCAT: eXtra (United Electronics Company) has announced the opening of its second store in Oman, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.

The new store is eXtra’s 40th, a result of the company’s continuous commitment to the GCC market.

bdulhameed al Ohali, CEO of eXtra, confirmed that the company is working according to a clear strategy for expansion, bringing eXtra closer to its customers across the GCC.

Commenting on the launch, Ohali said, “We are committed to our customers by offering a unique shopping experience, which begins with the best range of products available to customers in the Sultanate of Oman. We continue to strive to improve our after-sales service, and to develop our human resources and staff training in order to deliver the highest quality customer service.”

Ohali added, “There is an increasing demand for the products available at eXtra’s stores, and in the consumer electronics and home appliances sector. Our continued investment in expansion is based on our understanding of importance of the market.”

The new Oman store offers approximately 2,400sq m of selling space, and is located in Al Mawaleh North, near Markaz al Bahja. eXtra was established in 2003 to provide customers with a complete consumer electronics and home appliance shopping experience.

eXtra’s vision is to be the leading consumer retailer in MENA. The company operates 37 stores across Saudi Arabia, with an additional store in Bahrain and two stores in Oman which receives more than 13mn customers annually across its stores.

It was the first electronic retailer in Saudi Arabia to offer e-commerce to consumers, and its online retail platform remains a key driver for growth.

eXtra became a publicly listed entity in 2011, trading shares on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) for the first time on December 24, 2011 (symbol: 4003).
