Egyptian Foreign Minister contacts Salam, confirms support to Lebanese state

July 27, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shekri, on Monday contacted by phone Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, confirming his country’s full support to the Lebanese state, voicing as well Egyptian keenness on stability in Lebanon.

Badr Al Atti, Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, relayed Shekri’s words and expressed Egypt’s concern regarding the deteriorating political situation in Lebanon.

“The Lebanese political forces are called forth to activate the government’s work in preservation of the Lebanese state’s constitutional institutions,” Al-Atti said, reiterating as well Shekri’s call on the Lebanese to swiftly reach agreement over the election of a new president.
