JANUARY 9, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON)Egyptian Ambassador Mohammad Badreddine Zayed on Friday said that preparations for holding a joint Lebanese-Egyptian economic forum in Beirut in February were still underway, with the participation of a panel of Lebanese and Egyptian businessmen.
The envoy clarified that he met this morning with Minister of Economy and Trade, Alain Hakim, with whom he discussed the ongoing preparations for this conference, in addition to the bilateral trade relations and the economic promotion plan between the two countries.
He did not fail to highlight the importance of bolstering the commercial ties between Lebanon and Egypt, whereas the Egyptian products should be introduced to the Lebanese markets.
He also pointed out to the diversity of the investment opportunities available in his country.
He lastly heaped praise on the Lebanese investments in Egypt, which are ranked 14th among foreign competitors.
It is to note that a press conference will be held on forthcoming Wednesday to announce the activities of the aforementioned forum.
