OCTOBER 26, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Agriculture Minister, MP Akram Chehayeb, returned to Beirut on Sunday, winding-up his visit to the French capital, Paris, where he held talks with his French counterpart, Stephane Le Foll, devoted to agricultural issues.
The French Minister stressed his country’s readiness to support Lebanon, especially in the field of export. The meeting was crowned by signing a mutual administrative agreement over bilateral cooperation in the areas of agriculture and food security.
Chehayeb was accompanied during his visit by a Lebanese official delegation, including Agriculture Ministry Director-General, Louis Lahoud; Cooperatives Acting Director-General, Green Project Director-General, Gloria Abi-Zeid, and Agriculture Minister’s Advisor, Anwar Daou, as well as Engineers Hala Abdallah and Aline Sakr.
Earlier, Chehayeb also held talks with the Secretary General of CIHEAM Center, Consimo Lacingnola, and Montpellier Center Director-General, Pascal Berjore, which focused on the agricultural strategy for the upcoming years and the needs of the Lebanese Agriculture Ministry.
Chehayeb and his accompanying delegation also met with Director of the World Organization for Animal Health, Bernard Vallat, with whom they discussed development of the veterinary field in Lebanon.
