Cabinet fails to decide upon solid waste management

JANUARY 8, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Ministers failed again to take a conclusive decision on the dossier of solid waste, during their ordinary meeting at the Grand Serail, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam, on Thursday.

During the session, the Ministers looked into the reported submitted by Minister of Environment, Mohammad Mashnouq, as well as into the related observations and remarks. Speaking to reporters in the wake of the meeting, Minister of Information, Ramzi Jreij, quoted the Prime Minister as highlighting the importance of electing, in the nearest time possible, a new president of the republic, broaching the reverberations of the presidential vacuum on the work of the state institutions.

The Council of Ministers also observed a minute of silence over the passing away of former Prime Minister, Omar Karami, last week.

Lastly, conferees condemned the “terrorist crime” that jolted Paris yesterday, killing 12 innocent including journalists, and expressed solidarity with France.
