JANUARY 22, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) The Cabinet categorically deplored the recent Israeli assault in Qunaitra that led to the martyrdom of a number of Lebanese, stressing that “any statement issued by any political side solely reflects its own viewpoint.”
The cabinet on Thursday convened before noon under the chairmanship of PM Tammam Salam at the Grand Serail, with the Information Minister Ramzi Jreij reading the outcome of the cabinet’s meeting session.
Jreij quoted Salam as calling for electing a head of state as soon as possible in order to serve the high national interest, especially that the “ongoing vacancy badly affects the work of constitutional institutions.”
The premier also pointed out to the importance of executing the local security plan amidst the current hard circumstances, especially at the regional level.
It is to note that the cabinet has approved on a number of local files.
