Cabinet condemns Damascus blast, burning of Jordan pilot

FEBRUARY 4, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) The Cabinet on Wednesday sternly condemned a fresh blast in Damascus that targeted a bus carrying Lebanese pilgrims aboard, killing six and injuring many.

“Lebanon is leading a battle against terrorism, and the government is providing full political cover for the army and security forces in that respect,” Prime Minister Tammam Salam said at the beginning of a Cabinet session held at the Grand Serail today.

The Cabinet also condemned the burning alive by ISIS of Jordanian pilot Mouaz al-Kassassibeh.

“The loss of the pilot has hurt the feelings of the Lebanese,” Information Minister, Ramzi Jreij, quoted Salam as saying.

Reading out the Cabinet decisions, the Minister indicated that the Ministerial Council then looked into the session’s agenda.
