Boroujerdi: Presidential deadline local affair

JANUARY 30, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Chairman of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee at the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, on Friday stressed after his meeting with Foreign and Expatriates Minister Gebran Bassil at the latter’s ministerial office that “the Lebanese presidential deadline is a local issue,” hoping to elect swiftly a president.

Both sides held talks on the situation and stability in Lebanon and the region.

“We confirmed to the minister that Iran is doing all it can to enhance stability and security in Lebanon and the region,” he added.

Discussions focused on ways to boost and develop ties Between Lebanon and Iran, particularly in the area of economy and trade.

“We briefed the minister on the latest developments related to Iran’s peaceful nuclear dossier, as well as the ongoing negotiations between Iran and 5+1 group,” Boroujerdi concluded.
