MUSCAT: The benchmark MSM30 index extended its gains, adding 0.16 per cent, to close Monday’s trading session 6,297.46.

Share volumes rose 9.18 per cent to 20.11mn while turnover slipped 0.64 per cent to RO4.17mn. Of the 36 stocks that traded, 15 posted gains, while nine slipped and 12 remained unchanged.

The top gainers included Global Financial Investment, Al Batinah Dev Inv Holding, Renaissance Services, ONIC Holding and Al Jazeira Services, while HSBC Bank Oman, Galfar Engineering, Gulf International Chemicals, Sohar Power and Al Anwar Holdings lost the most.

Among the regional markets, Dubai’s DFM general index gained 1.2 per cent to close trading at 3,710.54 as 21 stocks climbed, six declined, eight remained unchanged.

Qatar’s QE index slipped 0.3 per cent, Kuwait’s SE price index rose 0.1 per cent and Abu Dhabi’s ADX general index added 0.3 per cent. In Saudi Arabia, the Tadawul all share index put on 0.7 per cent at 2:17pm in Riyadh.
