Bassil receives German parliament delegation

FEBRUARY 17, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Gebran Bassil received on Monday a delegation from the German parliament, accompanied by the German Ambassador to Lebanon Christian Cladj.

The delegation emphasized after the meeting that talks had touched on the situation in Lebanon and neighbouring regions.

The delegation noted that “it is important to support the Lebanese people and the peoples of the region, as well as Germany which currently hosts about 100 000 displaced Syrians,” pointing out that “the most important issue is to find a solution to the refugee crisis through the establishment of peace in the region.”

The delegation also shed light on the “conference that was held in Berlin last October to discuss ways to help Lebanon and Syria.”
