APRIL 24, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gebran Bassil, on Friday met in Yerevan with Armenian Prime Minister, Hovik Abrahamyan, to whom he extended heartfelt condolences on the Armenian genocide.
Talks reportedly featured high on solidarity and cooperation between the Lebanese and Armenian governments, as well as on the solid friendship between the two countries.
The pair agreed to activate the economic relations, highlighting the necessity to establish a direct air line between Lebanon and Armenia, in addition to the necessity to hold joint ministerial meeting to activate the joint committee in order to enhance investment and trade exchange.
“We are here as Lebanon’s government, not just to voice solidarity with a people that had been killed and beheaded, but also to voice solidarity with ourselves. The same thing happened when we were ourselves exposed to genocide. Here we are today subjected to massacres and terrorist operations,” Bassil said on emerging.
“Impunity is a repetition of the crime,” he indicated.
