APRIL 14, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Labor, Sejaan Azzi, on Tuesday met the invitation of his Jordanian counterpart, Nidal al-Qattamin.
According to a statement by Azzi’s office, talks touched on the necessity to exchange expertise in terms of the affairs related to labor in the two countries.
The pair also discussed the policy that should be adopted towards the foreign workforce in the two countries, the measures taken by both Lebanon and Jordan to address the issue of the Syrian refugees, unifying the Lebanese and Jordanian positions from human trafficking, and the efforts that need to be exerted in order to prevent child labor.
The two ministers agreed to establish a permanent communication line between the two ministries to enhance partnership on all levels.
Azzi also visited Jordanian Prime Minister, Minister of Defense Abdullah Ensour, with talks touching on the current political affairs in the Arab region.
Ensour underlined Jordan’s keenness on Lebanon’s stability in addition to the necessity of electing a new president of the republic, hailing the role assumed by his counterpart Tammam Salam amid this critical moment.
He also voiced fears over the current events in the Arab world, calling the Arab people to respect their states.
