FEBRUARY 20, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Druze Sheikh, Naiim Hassan, on Friday chaired an extra-ordinary meeting by the Druze sect’s general assembly council, at the Druze Sect headquarters in Verdun.
The meeting took place in presence of Democratic Gathering leader, Walid Jumblatt, Ministers Akram Shehayeb and Wael Abou Faour, as well as MPs Ghazi Aridi, Marwan Hamdeh, and other former MPs.
In his word, Jumblatt welcomed the ongoing dialogue at the Lebanese internal scene, most importantly that between the Future Movement and Hezbollah.
“Dialogue mitigates tension at the internal scene and contributes to winding down Sunni-Shiite tension,” Jumblatt added, stressing joint political responsibility preventing Lebanon from getting bogged down in regional conflicts.
The lawmaker also confirmed that he’s been following up on the kidnapped military men’s issue.
