Army: Security plan in Beirut, suburbs ongoing

APRIL 28, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) The Lebanese army indicated in a communiquE on Tuesday that the security plan kicked off in Beirut and its suburbs would carry on for the coming days, calling upon citizens to be responsive with the adopted measures for the sake of their safety.

“Within the frame of anchoring security and stability in the capital Beirut and its suburbs, and in order to fight organized crimes and prosecute suspects and wanted individuals, units of the army, in collaboration with units of the Internal Security Forces and the General Security, started to implement a wide-ranging security plan that shall continue for several days,” the communiquE read.

The army explained in the communiquE that the adopted measures included the erection of fix and mobile checkpoints, cars’ searching, confirmation of the passengers’ identity, patrols, and raids.
