Ambassador tells Mashnouq Egypt ready to uphold security needs

APRIL 24, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Nohad Mashnouq, on Friday welcomed Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Badreddin Zayed, with whom he discussed the current situation in the country and the broader Arab region in addition to an array of latest regional and international developments.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, the envoy said that he took up with his host the aspects of the bilateral cooperation and the relations between Egypt and Lebanon.

“There was keenness on enhancing those relations in all fields. Talks touched on the local and regional situation,” he said, adding that viewpoints were convergent in terms of restoring stability in the region.

The envoy continued that Egypt backed all the Lebanese security needs, vowing to be responsive in terms of any Lebanese request in that respect.

“Lebanon’s stability and security is a sheer Egyptian interest,” he concluded.
