Abu Faour visits Berri: to facilitate Cabinet work without constitutional firsts

FEBRUARY 19, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, on Thursday welcomed At Ain-el-Tineh Minister of Public Health, Wael Abu Faour, with whom he discussed the current general situation and the condition of the government.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Abu Faour indicated that talks touched on two issues: the mechanism of the governmental work and the work of the Parliament.

On the first dossier, Abou Faour called for the facilitation of the government work without venturing into constitutional firsts or new-fangled constitutional norms.

“Political discussions are possible but tampering with the Constitution is inadmissible,” he stressed.

On the second issue, Abu Faour maintained that there were pressing matters over which the Parliament must convene.

Berri later met with Minister of Youth and Sports, Abdul Mottaleb Hennawi, over the current general situation.

He also received respectively former ministers Albert Mansour and Fares Boueiz.
