JANUARY 19, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Public Health, Wale Abu Faour, on Monday held a meeting with the physicians in charge of the Lebanese districts, within the context of his fight against food corruption.
The Minister ordered the closure of Bekaa sugar refinery factory.
Within this frame, Abu Faour indicated that his Ministry perceived a concrete improvement on the level of food safety, especially in the wake of many tests conducted on goods and of hygene control wihin the institutions operating in the food products sector.
Regarding the issue of the Syrian trademan who has distributed expired food products on a number of restaurants, the Minister explained that the goods in question have been seized.
