Abou Faour meets Aoun, pushes for Lebanese understanding over presidency

FEBRUARY 13, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Change and Reform Parliamentary bloc leader, MP Michel Aoun, received at his Rabieh residence on Friday, Public Health Minister Wael Abou Faour.

Delegated by Progressive Socialist Party Leader, Walid Jumblatt, Abou Faour’s visit to Aoun came to push for a swift agreement over the Lebanese presidency, as well as for the activation of the cabinet’s work.

“Looking at the far possibility of getting things resolved at the regional level, the least the Lebanese can do is reach an agreement over internal issues, most importantly over the presidential deadline,” Abou Faour said.

The Minister said that discussions with Aoun touched on an array of pressing Lebanese issues. He also expressed his party’s hope that ongoing dialogue between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces, and Future-Hezbollah talks, would bear fruit.

“We have also touched on the pressing need to activate the work of the cabinet. I don’t think that any side is interested in getting the cabinet to collapse,” he added.
