JANUARY 8, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Change and Reform Parliamentary bloc MP, Simon Abi Ramia, confirmed on Thursday that “the days of surpassing Christian existence are way behind.”
“The refusal of some political sides to limit the election of a new Lebanese President to Christian leaders denotes an existing will to marginalize [Christians]”, the lawmaker said.
As for the newly adopted borderline measures by the Lebanese state, Abi Ramia reminded that his political bloc was the first to sense the danger of refugee influx on Lebanon.
We were accused of being biased when we expressed our opinion back then. The measures being adopted are good, despite the fact that they came late,” he added. The lawmaker did not fail to fervently censure the terror attack that targeted the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris yesterday.
“These events remind us of the attack on New York back in 2011,” Abi Ramia said, warning of the existence of thousands of “sleeping terror cells that had been long trained in Syria and fed on terror beliefs,” the lawmaker added.
