JANUARY 27, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Member of the parliamentary bloc Change and Reform, MP Simon Abi Ramia said Tuesday at a press conference in front of the Casino du Liban that the decision to lay off 191 employees was arbitrary and taken in dark rooms.
According to the Deputy, without those employees the Casino would not have continued its work.
Abi Ramia, however, explained that his presence among protestors had no political dimension, reminding them that he had followed up on this dossier from the start and had reached agreements with the Governor of Lebanon’s Central Bank and Intra Company.
“We called for a reform plan as the situation of the Casino regressed,” he recalled, calling upon the Governor of the BDL, Riyad Salameh, to question the arbitrary decisions and to consider the documents sent to the concerned employees as worthless.
