MUSCAT: As many as 70 student teams from across the sultanate have registered to take part in the 2015 edition of Injaz Oman’s Sharikati’s event that started in February.
The registrations are the highest witnessed in four years, said Shabib al Maamari, executive
director, Injaz Oman. “This has been the most successful year as both, the number of teams and students taking part has increased. Since our start as a small initiative in 2012, it has grown by leaps and bounds. This shows entrepreneurship skills and talents in Oman. We have had some of the best teams and most of them have found their real jobs or started their dream project.”
The winners will be announced in October and they will represent the sultanate in the Injaz Arab regional competition. Last year, the student company, Juthoor from the Higher College of Technology was awarded the ‘Best Company’ in Oman.
The colleges taking part this year include Sultan Qaboos University, Higher College of Technology Muscat, College of Banking and Finance, Nizwa College of Technology, Nizwa University, College of Applied Sciences, Caledonian College of Engineering, Modern College of Business and Science, Waljat College of Applied Sciences and Middle East College.
