Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir who arrived here Monday has held talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan.

The Crown Prince welcomed the visit by President al-Bashir, which he said is within the context of brotherly relations and continued consultations on issues of mutual interests for the two countries.

The two sides discussed the outstanding relations and co-operation between the two countries in the economic, political and development domains and the means for taking this development further to wider horizons.

The meeting also reviewed the latest developments in regional and international affairs and the challenges facing the region, at the top of which are terrorism and violent extremism as well as regional interventions which seek to undermine stability and security in the region.

The meeting discussed how to combat terrorist groups and to dry up their sources of financing.

The President arrived here at the head of a high-level delegation who included the Minister for Presidential Affairs Minister, the Minister for Foreign Affairs as well as other senior officials. The President will travel to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
