Sudan’s Minerals Minister, Professor Hashim Ali Salim, has indicated that the most important recommendations the Government of National Reconciliation is working on is to encourage local processing of export of minerals in raw form.

Speaking to officials engaged in the field of mining of minerals in northern Sudan on Sunday, he added that the processing of the raw materials was a priority for the government, besides encouraging investments in the mining sector.

He noted that operations of the metallic industry in the field of iron scrap recycling could take advantage of the millions of tons of iron in Sudan, while voicing his appreciation for the work of companies focusing on investment in minerals other than gold.
