NEW ROK FOREIGN MINISTER DETERMINED TO CONSOLIDATE TIES WITH SUDAN
The new Republic of Korea (ROK) foreign minister, Kang Kyung-wha, has expressed her resovle to consolidate ties of partnership between the ROK and Sudan based on the firm ties of friendship and co-operation between the people of the two countries.
Kang, who became the first women to be appointed foreign minister of her country when she was named to the post in June, said this in a message to Sudanese Foreign Minister Professor Ibrahim Ghandour, thanking him for the congratulatory message he had sent her following her appointment.
kang, who was previously Director-General of International Organizations at the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tradem had also served as Assistant United Nations Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Co-ordinator in the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA).
