CUBAN BIOTECHNOLOGY ACHIEVEMENTS ON DIABETIC FOOT SHARED IN KUWAIT
KUWAIT, Nov 27 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA)–Cuban specialists presented the results reached by this country in the field of biotechnology on the diabetic foot care and its contribution to Kuwait, said today diplomatic sources.
Doctors Lianet Rodriguez and Ridel Jesus Febles gave the lecture: “Cuban Biotechnology and diabetic foot ulcer: Strategy, Results and clinical trials in Kuwait”, attended by students and professors from the College of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Kuwait (AUK).
According to the Cuban Embassy in Kuwait, Rodriguez presented Cuban results on this subject of biotechnology, one of the most advanced and updating sciences at the service of Cuban public health.
He also mentioned various products achieved by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Havana, particularly Heberprot-P, a new drug for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer, based on human growth factor.
In his lecture, Rodriguez referred to the positive results of a clinical trial carried out by a team of Cuban specialists in the Dasman Institute for Diabetes in Kuwait, with the application of Heberprot-P in patients with diabetic foot.
The event was chaired by Andres Gonzalez, Ambassador of Cuba in Kuwait, Rawda Awwad, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences AUK, Maribel Duarte, First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy and Amir Zeid, coordinator of the event and professor of the Department of Information Science and Information Systems.–NNN-PRENSA LATINA
